이 스위트 룸은 구불 구식 갤러리와 스릴 넘치는 충치로 둘러싸인 지상 155m의 우리 홀의 옆에 자리 잡고 있습니다.

World's Deepest Suite
at 155 meters
The suite is situated next to our festivity hall, 155 m under ground surrounded by winding galleries and thrilling cavities.
Upon arrival you get a guided tour of the 155 m level. After this tour you are being served a basket with refreshments (cheese, biscuits, fruits, sparkling wine and chocolate). Our guide leaves you alone to enjoy the refreshments and the quiet of the mine. In the morning one of our guides comes and serves your breakfast. After breakfast you will be taken to ground level again.
Clothing
Make sure to be wearing warm and comfortable clothes for the guided tour. It is only 2 degrees Celsius in the mine, all year round! But don’t worry, the suite are warmed up to 18 degrees and the bed is equipped with a thick cover and an extra pair of blankets.
Important information
One of our staff is available for you above ground during the whole night and You will be given an intercom radio to communicate with. Mobile phones do not work at this level.
Further information
A simple toilet is available right outside the Mine Suite. You will also have access to showers and a lounge in our hostel above ground.

Sala Silver Mine – An Adventure
“Sweden’s Treasure Chamber”, was the expression King Gustav Vasa used when he spoke of Sala Silver Mine in the 1500s. Still today the mine is a treasure chamber – filled up with history and adventures, above as well as below the ground. How about joining a guided tour in the mine, spend the night in the Deepest Hotel Suite of the World 155 meters deep down in the ground or climb as high you can reach among the tree tops!
The Legend About the Mine
Once upon a me hundreds of years ago one of the farmer Bråsta-Lasse’s cows returned home from the woods with silvery horns. The lucky farmer followed his cows out in the woods the next day and discovered silver under a fallen tree.
Importance of the Mine
During 400 years the mine was the most important silver producer in Sweden, and one of the five most significant silver deposits in the world. In total 450 tons of silver were extracted. The mine has been a large producer of other minerals too, such as lead and zinc.
The Mine Today Above Ground
Nowadays the mine is a well-known tourist attraction. Above ground there is a variety of beautiful and well-preserved buildings from the 17- and 1800s – all well worth a visit. If you wish to climb a little higher than ground level, you just have to try the High Wire Track– installed high up among the tree tops. The High Wire Track gives you quite an unusual adventure. The track includes a suspension bridge among the many challenges. All in all the track is a 300-meter long adventure stretching out over a fantastic mining environment. Here you can enjoy the deep open pit “Herr Stens Botten” from above, which creates a difference in height of about 40 meters. Despite the breath-taking feeling you are protected by the guide and the safety ropes. The final is made up by a cableway with a length of 35 meters.
In the summer visitors can enjoy being guided through the mining area on the wagon platform of the one-hour Tractor Tour, as well as travelling back in time to watch and try live mining and to learn more about silver and our minerals in the Mini Mine above ground. The hungry visitors enjoy a splendid meal in the former home of the head of the mining water system – the Konstmästaren. The restaurant is open daily in the summertime and several days a week all year around. |

Guided Tours in the Mine and The World’s Deepest Hotel Suite
After having explored what is offered above ground we continue downstairs. In the mine there are guided tours on different mining floors all year around. The visitors walk along the same trails and paths downstairs as the ancient miners did in the 18th and 19th centuries – as deep as 155 meters (508 feet) under the surface. Deep down there are heated cavities including the underground Victoria Concert Hall and the extraordinary hotel suite for spending the night – The World’s Deepest Suite!
The mine is shown to our visitors through guided tours. There are four different ordinary guided tours focusing on various content: the life and work of the miners, the mine in a greater historical context or the most crucial things you should have knowledge about after having visited a silver mine – to give some examples. Furthermore there is the four-hour special named The Great Mine Tour where a soup lunch is served deep down underground. A brand new Children’s Tour has also been launched in spring of 2018.
The World’s Deepest Suite
To spend the night in the Mine Suite is an unusual experience. And waking up in the morning 155 meters deep down in the Sala Silver Mine will stay a memory for life. This suite needs to be booked in advance since it interests visitors from all over the world. And since the temperature is the same all year around you can stay there in any season. The temperature in the mine is always around three degrees Celsius but in the heated conference halls and in the suite it is about 18 degrees Celsius.
Guided tours
In the mine there are several tours of various difficulty levels – from the off road tour Miner Trail to the lighter adventure tours for children.
By joining a 60-meter tour you walk along the old miner’s descending paths almost 370 steps down into the underground. Along the way you will pass the mighty Queen Chris na Sha>, which reaches 257 meters deep down into the mine and several large cavi es, as well. At 60 meters the visitors walk through pitch-dark galleries with flashlights as their only light, and go up in an elevator in the end.
If you wish to join our most available tour down to 155 meters – the deepest mine floor possible nowadays, at least without a scuba diving set – you will experience underground lakes, amazing cavi es and long winding galleries. You can also have a look into the world’s deepest hotel suite to plan when you will come back for an overnigh ng. To 155 meters we travel both down and up in an elevator.

If you would like to explore the mine and its surroundings for more than one day, it is possible to stay the night in Gruvgården’s Bed & Breakfast. Food is served in the restaurant of Konstmästargården. In the summer me we also have a café, where you can enjoy coffee, sandwiches and pastries between meals.
