PE 주정부 등록 ( + 켄터키 주)

미국의 경우 주(state)정부에서 기술사 자격을 관리하고 인증해주고 있습니다. FE, PE시험을 통과해도 미국 주 정부마다 정식 라이센스 등록요건이 다르므로, 국내에서 정식 자격증(Licence)를 발급받기 위해서는 특정 주정부에 등록해야 합니다.

텍사스는 토플점수를 추가로 요구하고, 캘리포니아는 지진관련 추가시험을 요구하며, 알래스카는 극한관련 시험을 추가로 요청합니다. 즉, 자기가 원하는 주에 따라 대응하는 방식이 달라져야 합니다. 각각의 주정부 board홈페이지에 관련 사항이 나와있으니 참조하시면 됩니다.

저는 등록방법이 다른주보다 간편한 켄터기 주에 등록을 했습니다. 과거 시험 초기에는 오레곤 주에 등록을 많이 했는데, 등록기간이 짧은고 번거로움 없이 등록하는 주로 변경했습니다.

오레곤 주 :     관련서류 Hard copy송부(응시자가 추천인에게 서면 추천서를 받아 sealing하고 board로 우편발송해야함.

  응시자 등록여부 결정하는 회의를 1년에 4번 진행(시간이 많이 소요됨)

켄터키 주 :     추천인에게 일괄 전자메일로 요청함

  이메일로 모든 추천서류와 증빙서류를 교신하며, 보통 1주일만에 등록이 됩니다.

미국기술사 PE 켄터키 주 등록방법

켄터기 주에 등록하기 위해서는 Kentucky Board of Engineers & Land Surveyors에서 관련정보는 확인하고 절차를 진행해야 합니다. 홈페이지에서 관련 정보를 확인하시면 쉽게 진행할수 있습니다. 결론적으로 BDavid.Cox@ky.gov에게 PE Licensure Application Foreign Applicants을 작성해서 송부하고, 등록비용 결제를 하면 등록절차가 진행됩니다.

항목 4. Initial Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)에 따라 PE 등록이 진행되며,

Foreign Applicants 에 따라 외국인 등록이 진행됩니다.

이렇게 결제를 하면, 담당자가 배정이되고 제가  PE Licensure Application Foreign Applicants작성한 추천인들에게 이 메일로 추천서를 작성해주세요 라고 요청됩니다.

추천인들이 이메일로 추천서를 송부하고 2~3일 지나면 자격증이 짜잔하고 송부됩니다. PDF로 스캔된 파일을 먼저 송부해주고, 우편으로 나중에 송부해줍니다.
